Marin County

Raising A Reader in Marin county is hosted by Parent Services Project. They have been providing the program to over 60 sites and over 100 classrooms since 2005. In 2011, they anticipate serving over 2,000 children through Marin Head Start and Early Head Start, subsidized child care centers, family daycare providers, school readiness playgroups, and kindergarten programs. Napa and Solano Counties

The Raising A Reader Program operated by Child Start serves children and families in Napa and Solano Counties. Thanks to the generous start-up funding from local donors through the Napa Valley Community Foundation, Raising A Reader started in 2002 with three partner agencies in Napa County. As more resources became available, Raising A Reader continued to reach growing numbers of children in Napa County and expanded to serve Head Start and Early Head Start families in Solano County. Today they serve 2000 at-risk families annually.

Child Start currently partners with thirteen community agencies severing children birth to five utilizing the RAR Program. Children and families are served in preschool settings, home visit programs and parent education programs offered at local family centers.

San Mateo County

Raising A Reader San Mateo County, founded in 1999, is hosted by Silicon Valley Community Foundation. In 2010, they anticipate serving 5500 children through child development centers, family day cares and home visiting programs. Santa Clara County

Since 2003, Catholic Charities of Santa Clara County has hosted Raising A Reader in the Franklin McKinley School District and in West San Jose including the Luther Burbank Community. In 2010, they anticipate serving 300 children at the FIRST 5 funded Family Resource Centers. For these families, Raising A Reader serves as an interactive family literacy program for children who have not had an opportunity to attend preschool. Santa Cruz County

Raising A Reader in Santa Cruz County is hosted by Pajaro Valley Unified School District. They have been providing the program in over 200 sites since 2006.
